There are many varieties of essential oils out there in the world right now, and every single one has its own qualities and uses. Some essential oils can help relax and calm you down, while others can help you feel energized and refreshed. Some can help reduce tension and ease headaches while others boost emotional and even physical wellness. Lavender: One of the most popular and commonly used essential oils, lavender has a wide ranges of uses. Not only can it help improve your mood and make you feel more relaxed, it’s also supposed to help with healing basic scrapes, cuts, and burns.
Tea tree: Tea tree oil is another option that’s become very popular in recent years thanks to its antiseptic and antimicrobial qualities. A small amount of tea tree oil can be applied to a cut or small wound to disinfect it and kill bacteria. It can also be diffused into the air to help kill mold or mixed with vinegar and other oils and used as a household cleaner to keep counters and other surfaces bacteria-free. It is highly toxic when ingested, though, so never add it to your food or beverages.
Lemongrass: This oil is supposed to help ease headaches and muscle tension. It can also be used to kill germs, reduce fevers, and even keep away annoying insects. And in some circumstances, lemongrass oil can even help with cramps, nausea, and stomach pains.
Frankincense: This essential oil can help reduce your blood pressure and ease anxiety; some people even say that it helps relieve depression. It can also help with digestion problems and even boost your immune system to help prevent illness.
Chamomile: This essential oil can help you feel more relaxed and less stressed. It’s also believed to help with nausea, indigestion, and acid reflux. Do not, however, directly ingest the oil; while it has similar effects as the very popular chamomile tea (which is made from crushed chamomile flowers), the essential oil is made differently and is much more concentrated, making it potentially hazardous to ingest.
Bergamot: Good for reducing stress and anxiety, this oil can also be used to help eliminate body odor and aid in digestive health. Be careful about going out into direct sunlight if you apply it to your skin; though; this oil is photosensitive and exposure to sunlight can cause negative side effects.
Peppermint: A good choice if you want something to help you feel refreshed and energized. Peppermint is also supposed to help with reducing fevers and headaches, as well as improving your ability to focus.
